'Come With Me'
God saw her getting tired,
a cure was not to be.
He wrapped her in his loving arms
And whispered ‘Come with me.’
She suffered much in silence,
her spirit did not bend.
She faced her pain with courage,
until the very end.
She tried so hard to stay with us
But her fight was not in vain,
God took her to His loving home
And freed her from the pain.

A Mother’s Love
by Helen Steiner Rice

A Mother’s love is something
that no can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain.

It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may.
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away …

It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking …

It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it grows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems …

It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation …

A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

I love Mum

We've asked an angel in heaven
In a special Christmas prayer
To protect you while you're sleeping
And to tend to you with care

For we felt such pain and heartache
When you left us far behind
And throughout the celebrations
You'll be very much in mind

And although our tears are falling
Peace and solace will be found
When we find a pure white feather
That has drifted to the ground

Because then we'll know for certain
By this sign from up above
That an angel's wings surround you
With their everlasting love

Merry Christmas Mum, missing you very much today as always

I thought of you with love today,
but then that’s nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.

I think of you in silence,
I often speak you name.
All I have are memories,
and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake,
with which I’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
I have you in my heart.

Merry Christmas Mum, I love and miss you very much. Peter

Yesterday, Caitlin graduated from university. She achieved her Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Infectious Diseases) with Distinction. We know you would have been so proud, and that you were watching from above. Missing you especially much on these special days.

On 11 December 2017 the plaque was attached to Mum's headstone. This is a picture of that plaque. Mum I love and miss you very much. I long for the day that we can be reunited. You are forever in my heart. Rest in peace.

It is now one month since you passed and the pain of losing you has not lessened and never will. I miss you more than words can express. The loneliness I feel is profound; and not abated by the company of others. May your journey in the after-life be kinder to you than your time on earth. The memories of our time together sustain me but are insufficient to fill the emptiness of life without you. My love for you is endless, may you rest in peace for ever Mum.

I visited Mum's grave today and was greeted by a very beautiful and compassionate gesture. Sitting next the headstone is a small Angel statuette and flowers. The statuette bears the inscription “Angels from above watch over those we love”. This beautiful and thoughtful gesture was made by Sharon from KM Smith Funeral Directors. Thank you Sharon, words cannot express my gratitude to you for this act of kindness.

Mum I miss you so much. You were my anchor and my friend. The sadness I feel is so profound I find it difficult to express verbally. I have lost the only person I have ever loved. I know your spirit will guide me and that we will meet again.

Nikki Fraser on 18 October, 2017 at 8:43pm

Mum, you accepted me into your family with open arms and heart. I will be forever grateful to have known you for over half my life. I know you're now at peace and now in Heaven. May you rest in peace. Nikki

Tomorrow will be a sad time and we will say goodbye to your earthly body and hello to the free spirit you have become. I'm sure you are now happy and at rest, and are comforted in the arms of your loving God who knew best. Forever in our hearts.

Douglas Farrow on 16 October, 2017 at 3:40pm

Nan I didn't want to say goodbye. I didn't want to let you go. So, I'm not. I'm being stubborn and sticking to my guns like I learnt from you!

I'm keeping you right here in my heart and mind where you've always been and will be forever.

So until we see each other again one day, take care.

Love forever, Doug. xxx

It isn’t often in our lives that we come across someone so special that that person stays with you forever. Nanny was that kind of person. She was an amazing grandmother, full of love and affection.

I have so many wonderful memories that I can't even begin to choose a favourite. Time spent with her was always time spent surrounded by love and laughter.

I will never forget that there is a part of her in me, something that she gave me and asked nothing for in return.

What we all inherited from her cannot be damaged, destroyed or lost. It is permanent, and it keeps her from becoming just a wonderful memory. It allows her in so many ways to remain just as alive as always—alive through us.

I love and will miss you forever xoxo

“My Mum”

I thought I saw her face today
in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
“Her work on earth is done”.

I thought I heard her voice today
then laugh her hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
“There’s peace little one at last”.

I thought I felt her touch today
in the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say,
“The spirit never dies”.

I thought that she had left me
for the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
“She left you with her love”.

I thought that I would miss her
and never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say,
“She’s with you every day”.

‘One Mother’

You can only have one mother,
patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,
to mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
she asks nothing in return.

As we look upon her picture,
sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
and a smile for one and all.

Sweet Jesus take this message,
to our dear mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
and give her all our love.

If Roses grow in Heaven
Lord, please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.

Tell her that I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.

The memories I have of you are my only solace to your passing. You gave me life and nurtured me to adulthood. You are not only my Mother, you are my friend. You were a light that shone into the darkest corners of my life. The morning you died that light went out; and it can never be replaced. The sadness I feel has no bounds. My only comfort is that you no longer suffer the pain and disabilities that plagued the final years of your life. Your spirit will live with us as you look down from Heaven, may you always rest in peace.
